This Premium Members section contains the complete article of every Coach's Clipboard page, plus additional articles and content. New content (plays, drills, articles, etc) will be added to the Premium Members section first. Other enhancements include re-sizeable animated diagrams, large video-audio files, and pdf files (for nice print-outs). There is a "Member Files" database for adding and sharing your own plays, drills, etc with other coaches (who in turn, can share their's with you). Also included is a discussion forum for sharing ideas, questions, problems, experiences, etc with other coaches and players. Youth coaches will like the new youth basketball section. Additionally, Premium Members are entitled to a free download of the Coach's Clipboard Playbook download (a $24 value). The Playbook contains over 500 pages of offenses, defenses, plays, articles, strategy, player fundamentals, many drills, etc. plus coaching aids such as practice planning forms, stats sheets, shot charts, scouting forms, court diagrams, etc. To see the tables of contents, click these links: Playbook Contents, Animations Contents, Video Contents.
The membership period is for one-year at $49/year (about $4/month... even less when considering the free Playbook download, a $24 value, and other discounts!). A member will be able to login with his/her login and password at any time during that year. The reason the membership is set up on a yearly (rather than monthly) basis is because all the content is already there waiting for you for immediate access (not presented as little bits each month as some web-sites do). And since all the content is immediately accessible, once it is accessed it would not be fair to us for a customer to download everything and then cancel after one month! Of course, new content will also be added throughout the year.
The animated diagrams are re-sizable to full-screen and bring the offenses and defenses to life and help demonstrate the important timing of a play (click here for a sample). The video clips demonstrate important player fundamentals and how to teach them. The clips in the members section are larger and are of much nicer quality than the small clips seen on the website's VideoClips page, and they have accompanying sound clips from Coach Gels. Also included are all of the pdf files (for cleaner printed documents). Each page has an accompanying pdf file. See a sample pdf file. There is also a listing of all the quotes (nearly 150) used randomly on the homepage.
A new Member Files section allows you to upload your own plays, drills, etc for sharing with other members, while you can view plays, drills, etc uploaded by other members. Also included is a discussion forum for sharing ideas, questions, problems, experiences, etc with other coaches and players.
Youth coaches will also like the new Youth Basketball section. In this section, I have tried to simplify things somewhat for youth teams, as a fair amount of content in the Premium Members section is too advanced, detailed or complicated for youth teams. In this section, I have selected simple plays, and simple offenses and defenses that are more amenable to youth teams. This is important not only because of the age of the players and lack of experience, but also because of the limited practice time available to many youth teams and coaches.
Our international friends should really will like premium membership, with it's immediate access, no shipping delays (as with CDs) and no shipping charges. Because of no shipping charges, premium membership is actually less-expensive than the Deluxe CD for our international customers.
