Basketball Diagramming & Animation Software
Planning, Organizing, and Scouting Software
I have been asked many times by coaches, "Is there an easy way to create my own plays and animated play diagrams?" - (like you see on the Coach's Clipboard web-site), and then put them on their own team web-site (or CD) for sharing with their coaches and players. Up until now, it has been somewhat expensive and/or complicated. But NO MORE! I have discovered SportDraw, a software product that I think will really fit the task and your budget. In fact, I wish I had this software several years ago when I first started creating the Coach's Clipboard plays and animations. The software is easy to use, and gives you just what you want.
This software has been designed with input from top European coaches, and this company's project managers are often national-level coaches. The software is used widely in Europe, and officially by FIBA, and other organizations. Software is available for many different sports, but we will focus only on the basketball software here.
There are several components to this basketball software. In addition to the drawing and animation software (SportDraw), there is also SportPlanner, for planning and organizing your whole program. SportPlanner features basketball practice planning, practice scheduling, training plans, training schedules, scouting, etc, as well as keeping valuable info on each player and your team. It is used worldwide by World and European Champions, national and league teams, and university, college, and youth coaches. Finally, there is a stats program, BasketStats, but I have yet to review it.
SportDraw 4.0 is the drawing, animation software that I alluded to above. With this software, you can easily create play diagrams and animations. The diagrams can be saved quickly, in sequence, as individual images that you can use in a web-page, or a pdf or MS Word file. Animations are created with ease and can be saved as widely-compatible Flash files, or AVI files, for incorporation in your web-site. You can customize your graphics, using either colored circles or graphical images as your players. The courts are customizable... US or international, half-court or full-court with various backgrounds. You simply drag the players onto your court, use the drawing tools to create lines, cuts, passes, screens, etc. You click a "New" button and a new frame is created... you just move (drag) your players and the ball around in each new frame, and the software will animate the whole thing for you automatically. It's incredibly easy and fast! Click here for more info, and to see some screen-shots and a simple imbedded animation.

SportDraw Basketball 4.0
Before buying, take a look at "Sport Office Basketball 4.0". This package has both SportDraw 4.0 and SportPlanner... see below. |
|
SportDraw Basketball 3.0
SportDraw 3.0 has similar features as SportDraw 4.0, but lacks the ability to create Flash and AVI animations. Thus it is more or a play and drill diagrammer. There are several other nice enhancements in SportDraw 4.0... easier to move players, etc. I recommend spending the few extra dollars for the SportDraw 4.0. |
